FLOWERS IN BLOOM INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY THANK YOU

Flowers in Bloom is proud to announce the smashing success of this year’s international women’s day
celebrations! Celebrated in Canada on March 8th, 2025!

Thank you to my wonderful Winnipeg community for selecting my business to share in this
special time with loved ones.

My thanks goes out to my associate Olena, one of the strongest Ukrainian women I know.
My wonderful associate Olena started working with me in my flower shop this year shortly after
Valentine's day. Each day since, my heart is warmed by her joyful presence and her keen eye for beauty
and design. Prior to working here in Canada at Flowers in Bloom, Olena has been a florist in Ukraine for
over 15 years. Running her own shop while simultaneously growing over 2,000 tulips, is by no means a
small feat, the dedication and passion Olena puts into her work has carried across oceans and brightened
up the homes of countless others. Olena recently immigrated to Canada after her town in Ukraine was
bombed in the war, she chose Canada to forge a new life for herself and her son. The love I have
witnessed from Olena is immeasurable and serves as a reminder to myself and anyone who enters the
shop, that the most important thing in this world is to spread love amongst our fellow community
members. Giving and receiving fresh cut flowers is always a beautiful gesture of “Thank you”, “ I love
you”, “Thinking of you”, and endless others. Flowers are representations of personal moments in time
meant to keep us present, and during this year’s international women's day, I was privileged to share in so
many beautiful moments.

My biggest thanks goes out to the Ukrainian people of Winnipeg who supported my flower shop
celebrating women’s international day. The pain the Ukrainian community has endured during these
difficult years is immense. Women’s International day has shown me the strength of this country that no
matter who you are, or where you come from, in the service of peace and unity, we will always stand
together as one.

This year’s celebration has made me especially proud as a woman to own and operate Flowers in
Bloom. Serving my community with care and making a difference in the lives of my wonderful patrons
has been such a rewarding experience, and I can’t wait to continue on with my work and grow these
communal roots and branches even wider.

Flowers in bloom has been running for over 10 years, first diving into fresh cut florals,
houseplants, and eventually growing our beautiful garden centre that you see today. The final and most
exciting phase to come this year will be the “Garden Cafe” serving a Jamaican cuisine of snacks like
vegan rottie, hot Jamaican patties, and blue mountain ice coffee. As well as, various flavours of hard ice
cream in a cone!

As Flowers in Bloom continues to flourish, I hope to see new and familiar smiling faces as we begin this
year’s flower season. Thank you again, Winnipeg.

Yours proudly,
Angela Hyland
